About

Welcome to my blog, where I document my journey of understanding, growth, and resilience in marriage with a neurodivergent partner. Over the past 20 years, I have navigated the complexities of communication, emotions, and connection in my relationship. At times, disagreements left me feeling overwhelmed, and over the years, unresolved misunderstandings led to layers of frustration and resentment. However, through reflection and learning, I have gained valuable insights that have transformed my perspective.

I write in hindsight, sharing personal experiences and lessons to offer support and guidance to others who may be facing similar challenges. My goal is to help women better understand their neurodivergent partners while fostering empathy and meaningful connections. By opening up about my experiences, I hope to create a space for dialogue, healing, and mutual growth—for both partners in a relationship. Whether you are seeking clarity, comfort, or a sense of community, I invite you to join me on this journey.

About Me

My Hmong name, Foua Choua, more or less means “the weather.” In addition to raising my children, most of my life revolves around my family. I am an active partner, and my life as a wife of a neurodivergent and/or autistic person is important to document. It is my hope that my children will read about my journey and find some of it relevant to their own lives. It is also true that, while my stories are similar to those of other Hmong wives, I think my experience is uniquely positioned to inform others about the skills to navigate kindness for oneself.
